FLAVORS OF AMERICAS gave talks that called to the conscience of all men, and asked them to consult a doctor, from the age of 50, for a check-up of the prostate and thus, prevent this cancer or carry out an early detection, with possibilities of treatment and cure.
To raise awareness about prostate cancer, a silent disease that is positioned as the leading cause of cancer in men in Paraguay.
Going to the urologist could avoid high costs (fighting the disease at a very advanced stage) and even death.
The activity was carried out by health professionals, Dr. Arturo Ocampos, Clinical Oncologist, President of the Apostar por la Vida Foundation.
As part of the awareness campaign, the doctor launched a series of common questions to explain to men the details of this pathology and its treatment. He recalled that prostate cancer is the most frequent in the male population and does not usually give symptoms at the beginning of the disease. Early detection and treatment significantly reduce the risk of death.
"Become aware, perform a control and take care of your life," the doctor concluded. As every year, FOA, through the Human Resources Department, adds its support to the international campaign called "Blue November" to fight prostate cancer.
